Lake Granbury

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 29)

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 0.51 feet low. Seagulls have returned to the area, which is a sign that Fall is on the horizon. Soon you will be able to track their diving feeding to find the fish. Fishing has been good and should be shifting to the Fall patterns as the cold fronts roll through. As the temperatures decline, suspended fish should start moving up and feeding. The fish on Granbury are healthy and big as they feed on the abundant baitfish. Recent reports of sand bass are good using slabs on mainly mid-lake from Decordova Estates to in town by The Shores. Black bass reporting as good to 7-pounds on crankbaits, and soft plastics fished near main lake points and near deeper shaded docks. Striped bass are good to 10-pounds fished near channel ledges close to feeding flats from Indian Harbor to Blue Water Shores. Catfish continue to be good to excellent on cut shad all over the lake. Crappie limits are common on small minnows and jigs fished from the Peninsula to the 51 bridge.
