Lake Granbury

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 4)

GOOD. Water stained; 90 degrees; 0.84 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures continue to be in the middle to upper 80s and cooling some with the recent rains. Striped bass are hit-or-miss and are best on gizzard shad and trolled baits near Striper Alley. Sand bass action is good on slabs and spinners from the Shores in town to Indian Harbor. Sand bass are boiling on shad early and late. Crappie action continues to be good on small jigs and minnows fished near standing timber from in town to near Water’s Edge to the timber close to the old hot water outlet. Catfish are good on cut and prepared baits fished near creek entrances on many areas of the lake. Largemouth bass are slow to fair to 7lbs near deeper docks and main lake points. Look for schooling fish early and late near creek entrances and the river above Granbury is reporting some good catches working the laydowns. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
