Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 30)

GOOD. Water good clarity; 86 degrees; water levels normal. Water clarity is good in most areas. Water temperatures on Granbury continue to hover above the 86 degree mark and even hotter in the sloughs. Striped bass and sand bass are good on slabs and live shad on the lower ends. Striped bass to 10 pounds are possible. Sand bass and smaller striped bass are schooling on many mornings and can be had with most any shad imitation bait. Some largemouth bass are on the surface early and late and are good on crankbaits and soft plastics. Look for the bigger largemouth near creek entrances and near shaded docks later. Catfish are good on hotdogs and cut shad. The night action for catfish is reported as good with an occasional fish to 20 pounds possible. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
