Fishing Report from TPWD (Aug. 3)

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 86 degrees; 2.01 feet low. Fishing patterns remain as constant as the Texas heat. Bass are in deeper water biting on jigs and soft plastics worked very slowly around deep ledges and deep boat docks. Any type of structure in 18-25 feet of water is holding fish. Report by James Moore, North Texas Bass Fishing and Cmoore Striper Guide Services. Stripers and sand bass are moving fast. Catch them shallow early in the morning, but once the sun rises fish in deeper water. Striped bass are good on live bait, crankbaits and jigging spoons early in the morning from mid lake south towards the dam on flats and near the shallow edge of the river channel. White bass are good on live bait, jigging spoons and Alabama rigs in 12-25 feet of water. Catfish are good on cut bait during the day in 15-40 feet of water.
