Lake Granbury

Fishing Report from TPWD (Mar. 20)

GOOD. Water clear; 63 degrees; 0.12 feet below pool. Water temperatures are seesawing around the low to middle 60s. Recent rains have stained the backs of some creeks. Granbury has been releasing water and there are constant flows through the lake. Watch for floating debris especially on the upper ends. The best fishing reports are for catfish on the upper ends on cut bait. Some really large blues and yellow catfish to 30 pounds plus are possible. Striped bass fishing is slow to 10 pounds fished from Blue Water Shores to Decordova. Sand bass are fair on roadrunners and small minnows fished on the upper ends. Crappie catches are still best on submerged structures, but many are being caught in the river near Tin Top as well. Largemouth bass are slow to fair to 7 pounds on spinnerbaits and shallow diving crankbaits near main lake points and creek entrances. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters. Striped bass are slow. If you find a school of stripers your best bet is to wait them out to be in the right place at the time. They can be caught using umbrella-rigs, swimbaits or fresh shad. Fish are scattered from Decordova to the way up to Farm-To-Market 51 bridge. Report by Kraig Sexton, Sexton's Guide Service LLC, Fishing Charter, Marine Electronics & Whitney.
