Fishing Report from TPWD (May 7)

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.46 feet below pool. Granbury water temperature is around 70 degrees and is stained mostly on the upper ends. Lower end is not as stained. Sand bass are excellent on slabs on many areas of the lake. Sand bass are on humps and ridges in 12-20 feet of water and they are everywhere. Striped bass are fair to good on the lower ends on live shad and trolled umbrella rigs. Blue catfish are good to 20 pounds on cut bait fished on the upper ends near channel breaks. Crappie are still being caught in the back of the creeks on small jigs and minnows fished under a cork. Largemouth bass are also good in the backs of the creeks and near creek entrances on lipless crank baits and soft plastics. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters. Lots of debris on Granbury. Catfish are moving around but are biting readily once you find them. Best bite has been on the south end between 25-50 feet of water on small pieces of cut shad or prepared baits. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing.
